Manhattan: 42nd Street - Vanderbilt Avenue

East 42nd Street at the N.E. corner of Vanderbilt Ave., showing the Grand Central Railroad Station extending to 45th Street on the latter Ave. Park Ave. traffic passes on the bridge over East 42nd Street (right) and around Grand Central Station on an elevated vehicular driveway, passing underneath the New York Central Building, at East 45th Street, then resuming its normal course on Park Ave., north from East 46th Street. The station is the terminal for the New York Central Railroad, and the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad. It was opened in 1913.
