Manhattan: 42nd Street - Vanderbilt Avenue

East 42nd Street, at the N.E. corner of Vanderbilt Avenue, showing the southerly, or main side of the Grand Central Station. Approaching same from Park Avenue at 40th Street, is the ramp that carries traffic around this building to emerge at 46th Street. The photographers vantage point is the old Murray Hill Hotel. At the left foreground is the former Belmont Hotel site. Vanderbilt Avenue starts at that point. Towering above the station is the Grand Central Building where Park Avenue recommences.
